It would be nice to still have Fiala and Boldy. But with Boldy tracking to stardom it gives the Wild two players on different lines with game breaking potential when Kirill gets back.

Johansson is no Fiala but his speed and playmaking are what was needed to ignite Boldy.

I’ve been one of the biggest Reaves bashers but he has played to potential and been a good contributor since Kirill went down.

On the other hand, Zuccarello is a shell of himself withou Kirill.

Yeah, the play of Zuccarello has got to be scaring the hell outta Guerin right now. Being Kirill's security blanket is going to last much longer. Hartman is passable right now as a center for KK, but with only 1 year left for Zucc, unless he agrees to a HUGE discount on the next contract, the Wild are gonna have to find another dynamic winger to KK's best bud on the ice. And I am not so sure that Guerin even wants to give Zuccarello another contract.

As for JoJo, if Guerin can get him to sign a 2-3yr deal at $1.5mil, that's about all that the Wild be able to afford. If I am looking at this correctly, the Wild will have about $13.2mil in cap space to cover 10 spots. Now a few of those spots will still be relatively cheap if they are to be covered by the likes of Walker, Rossi, Beckman...new contracts are going to be needed for people like the Gus Bus, Evason's pet (Gaudreau) and JoJo. It's gonna have to be a very fine line that Guerin walks over the next 2 years.

And I'd like to know where everyone that has been dogging Boldy this year (his actual, true 1st full season in the NHL), where are they now? It's just like Fiala, not a superstar that elevates the play of skaters around him, but shines when skill is placed with him.

Jojo hasn’t played this well since about 5 destinations ago. He seems to realize that his recycled journeyman niche is fading so he has to produce. I don’t think it’s likely ito be sustainable over 2-3 years. Gus, the offer you suggest is where Guerin should be or cut ties if he wants a payday.

In looking at this roster as of now, the only player that just doesn’t seem to fit IMO is Freddie G…. I’ve always liked Gaudreau but he just doesn’t work. He’s not a physical player, he’s weak on the puck along the boards and isn’t a real threat to score unless it’s in a shootout.

Or on the PK.

Just found it funny that he scores 2 shorties after I read your post.

They said in game last night that Freddie Hockey (Gaudreau) will have teams LINIG up for his services after this year. My only hope is that he gets priced out of the Wild's range. I have been keying on him when watching games the last couple of weeks, and I have to agree with Gump, Gaudreau just doesn't seem to really fit this roster. But, being Evason's pet helps him stay on the roster. And the fact the the Wild are SOOOO lite on actual centers on the roster, that helps him as well. Now, he might have done enough this season to end up outside of the Wild's price range.

Was thinking same exact thing watching him score his 2nd short handed goal of the game…
Like I said, I like Freddie, but it often times looks like he’s just going through the motions out there, especially when he’s out matched. watching him try to throw a check is funny, it’s almost as if his opponent is merely swatting a fly away..
